Abstract

First of all, Lviv is known for its historic and cultural values, and few know that within its boundaries near the central part of the regional landscape park "Znesynia" there are unique geological natural formations that are not enough studied, but with detailed complex surveys they could be enter into a list of interesting geotourist objects. The park has a unique geological and geomorphological position. It is located on the coincidence of two geomorphological regions - Podilska, represented by Lisogirska height of Lviv Opol; and Volyno-Malopolisska in the part of the Strandy Pobuzhya and Small Polisia. In tectonically these units correspond to the Lviv (probably Western European Platform) and Busk (Eastern European Platform) tectonic blocks that are separated from each other by a ledge and steep slope high in the height of 139 – 164 m. The park "Znesinnia" is the only park in the city of Lviv, which has numerous geological objects of deposit deposition of various geological systems, sources, man-made forms of relief, etc. The purpose of the research is to systematize and register the geological objects of the Regional Landscape Park "Znesinnia", which envisages comprehensive geological study of natural entities during field research, their systematization and certification, the development of a classification system and the definition of a category, comparative analysis and evaluation of the geological heritage by the following criteria , such as representativeness, typeness, uniqueness, accessibility, complexity, scientific, educational and cognitive value, geotourist attraction, etc. The classification of the geotouristic objects of the Park "Znesinnia", designed for the first time, looks like this. All objects by degree of validity are divided into two groups: politypes, or complex (these are monuments defined by several criteria, they combine signs of several types of geological monuments); monotypes, installed on one sign. Groups on a subject basis are divided into the following types: stratigraphic (typical, or reference, sections representing the sequence of layers and characterize the history of the geological development of a certain part of the earth's crust; and the supporting sections of stratigraphic subdivisions of the local stratigraphic scale that determine the volume, age, structure of the stratum, and demonstrate the lithologic -specific features of rocks); paleontological (unique location of the fossils); hydrogeological (rare natural exits of groundwater - sources, and lakes); mining (artificially created natural object, the result of industrial development of the territory and extraction of minerals in an open way). In general 12 objects are described for each of them the standardized characteristic is given and a passport is developed. All of the described natural formations are valuable geo-tourist attractions of local importance, easily accessible, require restricted protection and recommended for geotourism, scientific, educational, cognitive, cultural and aesthetic activities.
